It\u2019s easy to neglect people management because it\u2019s not easy nor clear cut.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\t<p><strong>People are the principle asset of any business.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.encore-consultants.net\/StagingSite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/players-with-the-best-team-that-wins-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"players with the best team that wins\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"300\" width=\"300\" title=\"players with the best team that wins\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<p>\u00a0Without good, well-trained people, your business may get stuck. But great businesses focus on their people as much as they do the production.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Does managing employees have to be stressful?\u00a0 No<\/li>\n<li>Does it have to be reactive?\u00a0 No<\/li>\n<li>Do you have to wait until someone leaves before you talk about employees?\u00a0 No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<p><strong>Host a &#8220;People-Planning&#8221; meeting at least once per year with your leadership team.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t<p>This meeting will evaluate your current employees and help forecast your future needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\t<p><strong>Here are some questions your meeting should answer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How are your current employees performing?<\/li>\n<li>Are they trained effectively to accomplish their tasks?\u00a0Is there a need for additional training?<\/li>\n<li>Do they lack the needed skills for this role?\n<ul>\n<li>Where are they strong?<\/li>\n<li>Where are they weak?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If they were moved to another role, would they be more successful?<\/li>\n<li>Do you have enough people to complete your current goals?<\/li>\n<li>What are the upcoming roles the business may have available?<\/li>\n<li>What skills are missing to help with the growth of the farm?<\/li>\n<li>What additional people resources do you need going forward?<\/li>\n<li>Who can fill those roles or where will you look for candidates?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<p>This meeting allows the leadership team to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the team. They can assess the progress and role of each employee to determine if there is a better fit for them. Employees who are not strong in their current role may flourish in a new role, and cross-training is almost always a good thing.<\/p>\n\t<p><strong>Your most important investment is your employees.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t<p>People planning may be one of the most important techniques to increase their productivity.
